Article Processing Charge (APC) exemptions and reductions

Publis Editorial promotes equity in scientific communication and recognizes that financial limitations can be a barrier to academic publication. Therefore, journals published by Publis Editorial offer mechanisms for full or partial exemption from the Article Processing Charge (APC), with transparent evaluations that do not compromise the integrity of the editorial process.

General principles

- Requests for exemption or reduction are voluntary and confidential.

- Granting exemptions does not influence the scientific evaluation of the manuscript.

- Academic reviewers and editors do not have access to authors' financial information.

- Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit.

Eligibility criteria

Requests may be considered when justified circumstances exist, including, but not limited to:

- Lack of institutional funding or research project funding.

- Affiliation with institutions with limited resources

- Residence in countries or regions with economic restrictions

- Researchers in the early stages of their academic careers

- Exceptional situations, duly documented

Meeting one or more criteria does not automatically guarantee the granting of a waiver, but it does allow for the evaluation of the application.

Application procedure

1. The application must be submitted after the manuscript has been accepted by the editorial board and before the APC fee has been paid.

2. The corresponding author must submit the application through the channel indicated on the journal's website (electronic form or institutional email).

3. The application must include a brief justification of the case.

4. The evaluation is carried out by the editorial administration or designated body, independent of the peer review process.

5. The decision will be communicated to the author within a reasonable timeframe after receiving the application.

Transparency and accountability

- The evaluation process seeks to ensure consistency and fairness in the allocation of waivers.

Publis Editorial reserves the right to request additional information when necessary.

The availability of exemptions may be subject to editorial operational capacity.
