Errata and retraction policy

The Journal of Food Science and Gastronomy is committed to scientific and editorial integrity. It is recognized that errors may occur in the publication process and, therefore, a policy is established to address errata, corrections and retractions, ensuring transparency and confidence in the published content.

1. Errata

An errata notice will be issued to correct minor errors that do not significantly affect the results, interpretation or conclusions of the article. Examples of these errors include:

  • Typographical errors.
  • Omission of authors in the credits.
  • Discrepancies in the details of affiliation or funding.

Procedure

  • Authors or readers must notify the error to the Editor in Chief through the official journal email.
  • After verification, the errata will be published in a subsequent issue of the journal and will include a reference to the original article.

2. Corrections

A correction is made when the error is significant, but does not invalidate the conclusions of the work. This includes non-critical methodological errors or missing relevant information.

Procedure

  • The authors or editors identify the error and provide an explanation.
  • The correction will be published and linked to the original article, ensuring that readers understand the nature and impact of the change.

3. Retractions

A retraction is applied when the error is serious and compromises the scientific validity of the article, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism.
  • Data manipulation.
  • Irreproducible results.

Procedure

  • The retraction can be initiated by the authors, editors or readers.
  • Following an internal investigation, a retraction notice will be published with a detailed explanation of the reasons and, where possible, with evidence.
  • The original article will remain accessible on the journal's website, marked as retracted, to preserve the scientific record.

4. Ethical guidelines

These actions follow the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other international standards of good editorial practice.

5. Transparency

All notices of errata, corrections and retractions will be open access and will be directly linked to the affected article to ensure traceability.

6. Contact

To report errors or request clarifications, authors and readers should contact the editorial team through the official journal email.
