Digital preservation policy

The Journal of Food Science and Gastronomy implements various measures to ensure the digital preservation of its content (Internet archiving), following standards and best practices. It uses the LOCKSS system to store, preserve, restore, and distribute content among participating libraries, creating permanent archives for conservation purposes.

The PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) provides free digital preservation services to journals using the OJS system. This ensures that content remains accessible over the long term, even if the journal ceases publication or the website becomes inaccessible. Through the LOCKSS system, multiple copies are created in different locations, ensuring the integrity and availability of the content.

The journal also has an auto-archiving policy that allows the final corrected versions of articles in PDF, HTML, and XML formats to be stored in an institutional repository. User information, such as emails and names, is used solely for established purposes and is not shared with third parties.

In addition, the Journal of Food Science and Gastronomy has implemented a digital preservation policy that includes using Zenodo, a reliable platform for the long-term storage and access of digital objects, which guarantees the protection and conservation of published academic content. It also ensures the immediate availability of full texts by hosting PDF files of articles on the Dialnet server, thus promoting open and sustainable access for the scientific and academic community.
